The bay at Tanjung Aan is big and often feels very protected. The water here is usually super calm and crystal clear, especially closer to the shore. This makes it fantastic for swimming, even if you’re not a strong swimmer. It’s like a big, inviting natural pool, perfect for just floating or cooling off on a hot day. If you’re staying near The Spot, heading to Tanjung Aan for a relaxed dip is always a great plan.

Surfing for Beginners

While the bay is calm in many parts, Tanjung Aan also offers spots for surfing. It’s known as a good place for those just starting out or still getting comfortable on a board. Along Tanjung Aan beach, you’ll find a good number of relaxed, local cafes, often called ‘warungs’. They’re right there on the sand, offering shade, cold drinks (fresh coconuts are a must!), and simple food. It’s the perfect spot to just sit, relax after a swim or surf, watch the waves, and soak in the peaceful beach atmosphere. You can easily spend a couple of hours here just chilling out.

From The Spot or anywhere in Kuta Lombok, getting to Tanjung Aan is very easy. The most common way is by scooter, which gives you the freedom to explore. Just head east out of Kuta, and you’ll find the signs. The ride is straightforward and part of the coastal charm.
